Prevent Violence Against Children
Violence against children (VAC) undermines the full spectrum of health, education and development goals. It results in physical injury, emotional trauma, sexual exploitation poor educational outcomes and economic hardship for children. The negative consequences of the violence affect current realities of children as well as their potential. Above all, the violence is a blatant injustice and a gross violation of children’s rights. What is becoming clear is that a proactive and catalyzing community based work is needed to win hearts and minds of individuals and respond to concerns of a wide range of children . The nature of this engagement will have to be diverse, participatory and based on persuading individuals that just relationships with children is in everyone’s interest.
